Eligibility:
Minimum eligibility is Bachelor’s Degree in Biological Sciences, Biotechnology and Bioinformatics, any branch of Life Sciences, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemical Sciences or equivalent. Master’s and PhD degree holders can also apply.
Curriculum:
The following subjects will be covered by lectures, discussions, assignments and seminars:
Molecular and Cell Biology, Stem Cell Biology (Hematopoietic Stem Cells, Embryonic Stem Cells, Induced Pluripotent Stem Cells, Mesenchymal Stem Cells), Cancer Biology, Molecular Basis of Human Diseases, Animal Modeling of Human Diseases, Molecular/Precision Medicine. Computational Molecular Biology will include Concepts of Genomics, Proteomics and Bioinformatics, databases on the web, sequence similarity and database search, sequence alignment, promoter analysis etc.
You will have to first attend the workshops and master the basic techniques by also helping in conducting of the workshop, after that the project will be started.
A small project will be carried out in order to give hands-on training on the application of molecular biology and biochemical techniques in stem cells and cancer biology by using the leukemic cancer cell lines.
Special Features:
- High emphasis on practical training during the program.
- All students will participate in and then help in conducting Biotech and Cell Culture workshops.
- All students would participate and help in organizing the International Conference on Stem Cells and Cancer (ICSCC) (http://www.icscc.in/).
- All students would participate and help in organizing the International Conference on Biotechnology and Bioinformatics (ICBB) (http://www.icbb.in/).
- We will arrange a special exclusive interaction between our students and the key invited speakers at the above conference.
Course starts in: Mid-January and Mid-July every year. Please mention your preferred date of starting in the application. Applications are accepted the whole year round.
